Date: 5 September 2013
Beneficiary: Saffola Primary
Amount raised: R345 000

Once again our annual Trollope Mining Services Golf Day, held at the Kempton Park Golf Club on the 5th of September, turned out to be a huge success with the final amount raised trumping our previous efforts whilst loads of fun was had by all! The day's festivies included an array of refreshments and entertainment provided by a selection of our loyal suppliers and clients while the very capable drinks cart girls kept the players well hydrated in between pit stops. And as usual our two beautiful ‘police women’ did a spectacular job of collecting additional donations from players not abiding by the rules.

The evening’s entertainment was hosted by the duo Abbot and Crab who provided many a laugh and overall good vibrations, definitely contributing to the success of the auction with the day's earnings adding up to R345 000, which is going towards the further improvement of facilities at Saffola Primary in Bapsfontein. Saffola Primary School is a rural, partially funded government school, educating 230 pupils from grade R to grade 7. The school is situated across the road from the Trollope Mining Services head office and has been the beneficiary for a number of the company's charity projects in the past. Visit our Other Corporate & Social Responsibility page to read more. Trollope Mining Services would once again like to thank all those involved in making this day such a great success.

Date: September 2010
Beneficiary: Abraham Kriel Childcare / Kindersorg
Amount raised: R130,00

In September 2010, Trollope Mining Services hosted their first golf day in support of Abraham Kriel Childcare. The day was held at the Kempton Park Golf Club and proved to be a lot of fun!

A selection of suppliers and clients sponsored each hole and set out a variety of drinks for the players to enjoy while playing their round of golf. There was also a designated ‘policewoman’ fining those not abiding by the rules, or those not having enough fun. With a full field of players, fantastic support from suppliers and clients and generous bidders at that evening’s auction, Trollope Mining Services managed to raise R 130,000 for Abraham Kriel Childcare. Abraham Kriel Childcare (AKC) is a registered NPO providing childcare in the greater Johannesburg and East Rand in Gauteng.

Their passion is to ensure the optimal development of traumatized children in need of care. AKC provides both residential care and community services and focuses on providing shelter, care and rehabilitation for children between the ages of birth and 18 years old, who have been subjected to trauma, abuse, molestation, poverty and neglect. Currently AKC operates 21 (incl. baby unit) houses for children and carries out 6 community care programs that provide food, shelter, pastoral care, remedial care, social services, skills development services and early childhood development. In all their approaches they are connected to long term, comprehensive care which touches and strengthens all the children, so that they have the opportunity to lead productive and fulfilling lives. Should you wish to obtain further information about Abraham Kriel Childcare please visit their website at www.abrahamkriel.co.za. Trollope Mining Services would like to thank all those involved in making this day such a great success.
